MZ CONFIRMED WITH 100% VOTES
Mr. Aminu Mohammed Zakaria (MZ) receives 100 percent votes after having been nominated by the President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the second time to be the MCE of Ayawaso Municipal Assembly.
He was given an overwhelming endorsement to continue working as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ayawaso North Municipality by all the Eighteen (18) Assembly members in an election conducted by the Municipal Assembly Electoral Commission (EC).
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey expressed his delight over the total support from the Assembly members, adding that the gesture is a testimony of the Assembly’s preparedness to collaborate with the MCE to enhance development in the municipality.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister commended all the stakeholders for the manner in which the election was carried out, pointing out that it was held in a peaceful atmosphere and urged all to operate in a non-partisan approach towards the infrastructural development of the municipality.
Hon. Henry Quartey advised the MCE to work with the rank and file of every party organization. He further explained that, their aim should be to seek development for the people and of the municipality.
“I urge you to cooperate with all assembly members and give feedback to the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in the discharge of duties for the Council to respond to your needed request”, he added.
In his victory speech, Mr. Aminu Mohammed Zakaria thanked the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the confidence and trust he has in him and assured that his second term in office will witness tremendous growth of socio-economic projects in the municipality.
He expressed his sincere thanks to the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Imams, opinion leaders, chiefs and assembly members for cooperating with the Assembly to transform the municipality to a new level of growth and development.
He further said his doors are always open for discussions and deliberations in matters relating to the needs of the municipality and urge all stakeholders and to join me complete the task ahead”, he added.
For his part, the President of Council of Zongo Chiefs, Chief Moro Baba Issah called on all to work collectively with the MCE in peace and harmony and commended the Assembly members for the total support given to the MCE, saying it shows the commitment of works exhibited by the MCE in the discharge of duties and urged them to give him their maximum cooperation to provide and address developmental projects to boost the image of the Assembly.

News from AssemblyANMA PASSES SANITATION BYE-LAWS.
The Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly on this day 12th July, 2021 passed a Sanitation Bye Law for the Municipality.
The bye law which deals with the cleaning of frontage of Residential, Private, Public and Commercial buildings is aimed at keeeping the Municipality clean.
It states that, the responsibility of cleaning the frontage of a building is the sole responsibility of the owner or occupier of the building. Failure to abide by the Bye-Law will result in the Assembly take up the cleaning and surcharge the owner or occupier and or the owner or occupier will be Prosecuted.
It was unanimously approved by the members of the Assembly..
